The subject of the Madonna is probably one of the most popular iconographies throughout the history of both Western and Eastern art, most often represented with the iconographic motif of the Madonna and Child. The figure, therefore, appears against a dark background, illuminated from our left. Compositionally, we note a certain archaic quality in the ostentatious elongation of the subject's proportions and a certain hardness in his features.

From an analysis of the work, the author could be identified stylistically as an artist with an excellent pictorial technique but still tied to an archaic taste of a popular nature.
