The work features an assemblage of tableware composed in such a way that the work suggests a sort of laid table.

During the 1950s and 1960s, the so-called poetics of the object began to spread in European and American art. Harking back to the readymade of Dadaist memory, a new wave of groups or movements repurposed everyday objects as works of art. However, in this case, the artist did not pictorially recontextualize the work, as in New Dada, but left the object clean, transforming it into a work of art solely through the choice of assembly.

The work is the product of an artist inspired by the Dadaist and New Dada poetics of the object.
