The work has a marked expressionist vocation, which tends to emphasize the expression of emotions. Expressionist art seeks to proclaim its moods to the world and flaunt them with passion. Formally, this translates into a summary rendering of the figures, through a very nervous and animated line, as well as the use of a violent color palette. These characteristics are found in the historical avant-garde movements of expressionism: Fauvism and the Die Brucke movement in Germany. The three graphic works have been attributed to Rehinard Lange. He is an artist who favors a minimalist style that brutalizes the figures, reducing them to a minimal and crude form. The few marks he uses have a deliberately naive and childish quality. Lange's brutalism, however, is not limited to individual figures, but permeates the entire work. The artist, in fact, seeks to convey the image of a degraded surface, and the dirt is recreated by layering various gestures and chaotically mixing the figures. The three graphics have been attributed to Reinhard Lange, a German artist who lived between 1938 and 2017.
