The graphic design analyzed here presents an urban landscape. A popular subject in the twentieth century, we can glimpse a dense forest of houses juxtaposed, anonymous dwellings growing like weeds, nestled side by side, creating overcrowding in an increasingly dense urban fabric. The total absence of human figures conveys a certain sense of desolation and anonymity.

The graphic work, partially retouched by hand, is based on a simple and precise drawing. Without excessive embellishment, the artist confidently sketches the houses, tracing only the walls, chimneys, and windows, without delving into detail. The drawing appears flat, given the near-absence of chiaroscuro, and the shadowed area depicting the distant architecture helps intensify the idea of ​​a city that seems to lean toward us, as if suffocating within its own frame, trying to make room for itself.

The interpretation of the signature on the graphic is T. Cassinari. Research to date has not led us to identify the artist's biography. We can compare him to painters such as Guttuso, famous for his works depicting Roofs, but also Orfeo Tamburi, known for his urban scenography.
