The subject of this panel features the full-length, life-size image of a saint. It's difficult to pinpoint which saint it is, given the lack of iconographic references.

The panel, carved and painted, is decidedly inspired by the Byzantine tradition, reflecting all its prerogatives. Byzantine art retains all its strongly archaic stylistic features, aimed at exalting the supernatural and divine nature of what is depicted. For this reason, the panel exhibits a marked anti-naturalism, still reminiscent of the Middle Ages. The conception of space is not rational, there are no regular proportions, and the subject appears very elongated. The facial features are generalized, and the gaze is lost in contemplation of the divine. These are all elements that contribute to the work's transcendent aura. Formally, a marked linearism prevails over a substantially two-dimensional surface.

Although it is difficult to date and place the artist who created this work, it can nevertheless be considered that this painting presents some traits of modernization compared to the most ancient phase of Byzantine art but always remaining within the framework of its most exquisite tradition.
