Basso Ragni (Termoli, 1921 - Livorno, 1979). He moved to Livorno as a young man and, after the Second World War, devoted himself to painting. His works are distinguished by vibrant, full-bodied brushstrokes, often revealing the surface. His art is characterized by an intense, vigorously applied use of color. The images are sometimes only hinted at, but they convey a dramatic atmosphere, especially in subjects such as "Beggars" and "Beggars," where his chromatic impressionism becomes darker and more anguished.
