The work includes: a text by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, now His Holiness Benedict XVI, the foreword by Monsignor Timothy Verdon, and an anthology edited by Gianni Guadalupi that includes a selection of texts by famous writers, artists, poets, geographers and philosophers of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, including Charles Baussan, Andrej Belyj, Giuseppe Conti, Edmondo De Amicis, Imbert de Saint-Amand, Louis Gillet, Paul Ginisty, Victor Hugo, Edward Hutton, André Maurel, Elisée Reclus, Carlo Romussi, John Ruskin, Inglis Sheldon-Williams, Yorick son of Yorick.
The volume is accompanied by one hundred and fifty-six images outside the text printed in color on Gardamat paper, 150 g, and by one hundred and sixteen illustrations printed within the text.
Original bas-relief work in 999% silver, size 23.5 x 20 cm, made in "ground" casting, finished, patinated and polished by hand at the Fonderia Artistica Ferbel in Brescia, in a limited edition of one thousand copies numbered from I/M to M/M and placed on the front cover of the volume Beauty and Identity. Europe and its cathedrals by FMR. The work is embellished with four friezes in 999% silver designed by the master Ducrot, made at the Fonderia Artistica Farbel, finished, patinated and polished by hand and also placed on the cover of the volume.
