Callas - Medea

It is a copy of a black and white photo, to which many colors have been added to emphasize the dramatic expression on the face and, at the same time, the richness of the clothes has been enhanced by the inclusion of metals such as bronze and aluminum (the bracelet, the earrings and the crown). It is not a static pose. The face has remained in black and white, to emphasize the desperation of the emotions.
The frame is an indispensable element of the canvas, as it assimilates its colors and becomes one with it; for Medea, the frame represents the impossibility of deviating from her choice.
