Camilla

Camilla was there for me after my wife's passing. We lived in a house, isolated in the woods, in the Ligurian hinterland, for two years in a deep connection, living for each other and vice versa. Then one hellish night she climbed into bed and, caressing my cheek, let me know she wanted to go out. I opened the door, and she never came back. The next morning, I found a deer's head on my doorstep. A wolf had eaten the rest, along with Camilla, I think. Period.
