Carlo Verdecchia was an Abruzzese painter originally from Atri. The son of a veterinarian, he trained at the Academy of Naples. His association with Giuseppe Casciaro and his art collection, through which he came into contact with the art of Filippo Palizzi, was also crucial. In 1927, he began exhibiting throughout Italy. He participated in several editions of the Venice Biennale and the Rome Quadriennale.
