Carlo Vighi - Archetype - from the theme The Labyrinths

The work "Archetipo" – on the theme of "Labyrinths" – is a bas-relief on a rectangular base with emerging shapes reminiscent of a labyrinth. Inside are several rounded shapes resembling small white stones and two raised numbers "11"s, slightly offset from each other. The simple composition focuses on the shapes and their relationships in space.

Carlo Vighi created this sculpture using wooden materials and a mixed technique that enhances the bas-relief. The application of colors, predominantly red, orange, and white, with a sprayed effect, contributes to a delicate chromatic balance. The work presents a balance between forms and volumes, with careful management of light and shadows that highlight its depth. The style reflects an abstract and symbolic language.

Carlo Vighi was born in Ravenna in 1951. From a young age, he devoted himself to the study of music, drawing, and painting, exhibiting for the first time at just 14 years old. After his studies, he worked as a designer and manager, combining his profession with ongoing artistic activity. He graduated in Communication Sciences and, since the 1980s, has devoted himself increasingly to painting. He lives and works in Volta Mantovana, where he organizes courses, conferences, and publishes art treatises. His artistic career is marked by ongoing research: from realism to expressionism and metaphysics, he has developed an original abstract language. His works are distinguished by the care taken in drawing, the depth of light, and the balance between form and color. In both his portraits and his abstract compositions, Vighi demonstrates a profound sensitivity that translates emotions and thoughts into vivid images.
