Description of the work
Description of the work
The "Still Life" genre emerged in the early 17th century. It consisted of compositions of inanimate subjects, most often flowers or fruit. While initially it was an opportunity for painters to experiment with naturalistic or photographic reproductions of reality, with contemporary art, the "Still Life" also became a way of interpreting reality. Indeed, as happened, for example, in the Cubist avant-garde or in Giorgio Morandi, the in-depth exploration of objects was aimed at a conceptual representation, taken beyond the mere sensory aspect.

Painter Chiara Turina has succeeded in elevating the watercolor technique to the highest levels of formal perfection. In her work, the precision of a naturalistic rendering faithful to the sensory experience combines with the lightness typical of diluted color. Her use of watercolor is so refined that, through an elegant interplay of colors, the forms of objects are conveyed. The coexistence of diverse elements in a limited space allows the artist to maximize the aesthetic qualities of diluted color. Thus, the composition unfolds in a subtle interplay of glazes, semi-transparent harmonies, and tone-on-tone effects, creating a kaleidoscopic, luminous whole.
Chiara Turina was a painter from Roverbella who passed away in 2015. Specializing in watercolor, her work focused primarily on flowers and gardens. Her exploration of these subjects, which provide inspiration for compositions of great chromatic exuberance, led Chiara Turina to excel in the art of watercolor. Her technique reached a very high level of execution, combining a perfect naturalistic rendering with the lyricism and lightness typical of watercolor painting.
