Christ in Meditation

Thus, by repainting the canvas step by step, we have the final layer, similar in technique to that of the followers of the style. The canvas, approximately 65 by 44 cm, is divided in two: the upper part, with the face with the Light in Christ's face, and the lower part, with the hand.

The face appears full-bodied and lively, the hands dull. The two phases symbolize divine light and natural light. Divine light depicts Christ as the son of God, and therefore of good.
Natural light depicts the dull color that announces Christ's death, hence his color of death. In this scene, Christ is in meditation, similar to the "Supper at Emmaus." This canvas can be called a "study panel," and therefore more distinctive than the others, as it is not a simple copy.
