Description of the work
Description of the work
The portrait is one of the most widespread artistic expressions in the field especially
of painting, but also of sculpture, in all eras. The portrait is, first of all
place, a description of the subject represented, an attempt to bring back to
his physiognomy and his individual characteristics truthfully and naturally.
With the progressive evolution of artistic research towards physiognomic description
of the subject was also accompanied by the psychological one. Therefore the portrait, in
centuries, it has also become a means of introspective investigation on the subject, on the
his character and his state of mind. They intervened, in favor of this type
of investigation, the processes of abstraction brought about by contemporary art.
Davide Avogrado has focused his research on the reproduction of the
human figure, in single or group portraits as in this case. Looking at the
from his works we can understand how David's main interest
Avogadro is to transfer life into his paintings with a sensitivity
exquisitely contemporary. This work is nothing more than a snapshot, in
in which the artist captures an absolutely realistic image. The photographic cut
of the shot gives us a dynamic scene, in full swing, in
which Avogadro's expressive, moving brushstroke intervenes to eliminate
any sense of staticity and manages to render the complexity of the view
human. The technical expertise of Davide Avogadro concludes the picture, managing to
depict subjects in a soft naturalism.
