I began the "Liquid Life" series at a time when my country, Brazil, was experiencing one of its largest government corruption scandals. The relentless flow of events and news led me to profound reflections on humanity. I encountered works by Zygmunt Bauman, and his work, "Liquid Life," touched me deeply. My reflections and emotions were expressed through paint and brush, as I felt the need to alert the subjects, the people, and the world to the need to rethink the world, our way of life.
I felt the need to question the new values ​​imposed on us. We cannot be slaves to the narratives fabricated around us, losing touch with our own subjectivity.
In our personal lives and in society, we are experiencing a shift from solid to liquid, where speed, not duration, matters. Liquid life is one of consumption, excess, and obsolescence. We are experiencing a new "networked" individualism.
Fluidity is repeated in our culture, religion, morals and ethics.
