Elvio Mainardi - Flowers Backlit

From then on, the subject was continually revisited as a pretext for exploring new pictorial trends, and it also played an important role in avant-garde painting. His work is characterized by delicacy and an expressive use of light. His realistic yet delicate style conveys tranquility and harmony. His brushstrokes are soft, powerful, yet not heavy. Elvio Mainardi was born in Adria (Rovigo) in 1934. He began exhibiting his work at a very young age in 1952, and was immediately appreciated by the local community and critics. His works have been exhibited internationally and are held in private collections. He was dubbed the "painter of light" for his mastery of color and the interplay of light. Mainardi died in 2022 at the age of 87.
