Landscape has always been a central theme in artistic research, both as a setting, as a backdrop, and as a subject itself. The naturalistic depiction of landscape has been a major aspiration for artists of every era. Each historical period has offered its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its depiction: first with an exploration of space, through Brunelleschi's perspective in the early Renaissance, then with atmospheric rendering in the sixteenth century, up until the depiction of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism.

Ennio Fabbri's pictorial language is not intended to be an objective representation of reality, but rather to draw out its expressive potential. For this reason, his style is closer to a Symbolist interpretation, in this case of a landscape. Thus, compositionally, the drawing becomes essential and iconic. The application relies on an almost Divisionist, speckled technique. Color is charged in tones to enhance its expressive value.

Ennio Fabbri is a Roman painter who has developed his own distinctive artistic language. His vocabulary is essentially figurative, but his interpretation of reality draws on Symbolism.
