The work is an abstract composition. "Abstract" derives from the Latin term "abstrahere," which means to extract or draw out. The process of abstraction, in fact, consists of eliminating the particular and individual aspects of an object to derive a universal concept. From Kandinsky to Mondrian, from Pollock to Mirò, many painters have pushed the process of abstraction to the limit in their works, paradoxically creating pure forms and pure colors that do not exist in nature, or translating their emotions and instincts into images.

Fabrizio Trotta is a painter open to various styles and influences. In this case, the artist is inspired by Piet Mondrian's exploration of harmonies and color balances. In a sort of citation, Trotta revisits the Dutch painter's geometric reconstructions, but with a new kind of expressiveness. Trotta doesn't allow pauses (he doesn't use white), and his structure is tight. Furthermore, his color fields are textured, dense with raw hues, which clearly differentiates him from Mondrian.

Fabrizio Trotta is a Calabrian artist born in Paola in 1973. From a young age, he displayed a rich sensitivity and a desire to express himself in various artistic forms. After a stint as a musician in Milan, he returned to Paola, where he devoted himself full-time to the visual arts, especially painting. His works are born from the encounter between spirituality and rough, tangible matter.
