Animal depictions in art have ancient origins, appearing even in primitive cave paintings. For religious reasons, various types of animals appear in the works of various ancient civilizations. Fernanda Palvarini is an artist originally from Brescia. She has exhibited her work in numerous important exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. Among the many, she has held exhibitions at Orzinuovi Castle, the Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo, in Dallas, New York, Lugano, Zurich, and at the Casinos of Sanremo and Monte Carlo. In 2004, she received the Oscar for "Painting in the World Award" in Santo Domingo. Her work has been reviewed by critic Vittorio Sgarbi, who called her "an heir to French Expressionism." In 2007, she received honorary citizenship of the city of Ragusa. In 2013, she donated one of her paintings to Pope Francis.
