WHITE FIGURE

In this painting on a 1cm thick panel, the painter's research is evident, using the panel or canvas to perform an action, such as action painting, and at the same time recover a real form, see the "White Figure" in the centre of the painting. Ezio Ranaldi wants to spontaneously create a female figure by discharging energy onto the panel, energies that are partly controlled and partly uncontrolled; the unconscious is the painting's inspirational source. The painting has a life of its own, the artist merely seeks to bring it to light.
