Interior views are quite common among the subjects of artworks. Consider, for example, the many paintings depicting the artist's studio, such as Courbet's famous "Atelier." In other cases, painters have drawn inspiration from the intimate spaces of their lives, a prime example being Van Gogh's "The Room." Franco Benassi was born in Trento on April 25, 1935. He attended art school in his hometown at the Artigianelli Institute, where he was taken in after a Carabiniere, who had found him an orphan and homeless, took his plight to heart two years after the loss of his entire family in the terrible bombings the city suffered, bearing the indelible marks of that event himself. In 1978, he began entering his first competitions, attending academies, and attending his first exhibitions, immediately receiving widespread acclaim from the art world. This quickly led to international success and recognition, leading him to join the SINTESI group in Milan, of which he was an active member. His solo exhibitions have always been a success throughout Europe, and some of his works are held in numerous museums.
