Franco Curvo's subjects can be classified in the following categories:
a metaphysical aesthetic. In his works, in fact, one can perceive the same effect of
alienation typical of the movement founded by Giorgio De Chirico, obtained
through the process of displacement, that is, the sudden appearance of a
object out of its usual context, or the condensation, the fusion of several
objects into a single entity. Metaphysics is also distinguished by its character
ostentatiously illusory of his images. The graphic/pictorial work of
Franco Curvo fits perfectly into these aesthetic canons, proposing the
mysterious situation of objects arranged in a room, in an atmosphere
still and full of silence. However, Franco Curvo's aesthetics, in its explication, is also characterised by a very surrealist component
developed. Everything is achieved with a hyper-realistic, provocative language
and illusory, obtained through the original technique of this artist.

The way in which the subject has been represented draws inspiration from the
Hyperrealist currents. Hyperrealism aims at a representation of reality
totally objective: in fact, also thanks to the use of very aggressive techniques
and the use of bright color ranges, a data rendering is achieved
naturalistic so pure as to seem illusory. Franco's hyperrealism

specific technological connotation, inspired by “computer graphics”.
The artist's attention is often drawn to rooms. Interiors of homes,
rooms that Curvo creates with his objective, mathematical lucidity. The

of immobility, of unreal suspension.

Born in Piedmont in 1956, Franco Curvo lived for many years in La
Spezia and has lived in Florence since 1991. He has a degree in mathematics (Pisa 1980) and

exhibitions and events. From 2005 to today Franco Curvo has created
numerous works and participated in various exhibitions, both traditional and through

various competitions.
