Description of the work
Description of the work
It consists of two volumes, the first in the original language and the second in the Italian translation, in a fine binding and limited edition of 2999 numbered copies.
Large format, 42x30cm.
Splendid parchment binding, in a silk library slipcase, with gold-stamped writing and design on the pages, including the stunning geographical maps and title pages, on special paper, Latin text in 2 columns; including 307 pages in Italian, almost all with text in 2 columns, also on special paper, a very valuable edition, limited edition of 1822/2999.
The volume is a facsimile reproduction of the work Ptolomaei Tabulae Cosmographicae printed by J. Roger in 1486 in the German city of Ulm.
To produce it, a paper was chosen that, due to its special characteristics, is very similar to that used in the original incunabulum.
To faithfully reproduce the shade of the original paper, an additional color was introduced during the printing process.
The fading that appears in some parts of the work is also present on the original incunabulum.
This edition is in two volumes, bound in Pergamenata Marina paper with gold-embossed decorations. The slipcase is handmade in cloth with gold-embossed decorations.
The Latin facsimile is made with special Corolla Bianca paper from Fedrigoni, printed in 5 colors to reproduce the original color of the paper and bound using an ancient artisan technique.
The entire braghettatura process is strictly "manual".
