The human figure has always been at the center of artistic research. Since the age
classical naturalistic rendering of human anatomy was one of the goals
main works of painters and sculptors of all times. The representation of the nude is the
maximum expression of this aspiration, transversal to all eras and
all stylistic currents. In fact, in addition to the naturalistic interpretations,
of the Renaissance and of the various classicisms, which aim at a representation
truthful and detailed of the human body, the nude was also the protagonist
within the new aesthetic concepts brought by the avant-garde
historical, such as Cubism, Expressionism and Surrealism.

In this work by Giorgio Vignolo reality is represented in a
extremely dynamic, breaking down the space and the subject contained in
it, exploring, through painting, the relationships between the same subject and the
space and the possible possibilities for interaction. Thus in this naked Vignolo
wants to highlight its possible dynamism and its interactions with the
space. For this reason the painting is conceived as a continuum between subject
and background in which the body and the wall behind are subject to the same
decomposition. The systematic decomposition of reality takes into account every
possible variable, every possible development. The sensible world transforms,
therefore, in an intricate game of planes that reflects its complexity even in the
choice of color range.

Giorgio Vignolo was born in Genoa and attended the Maragliano Art Institute.
with Prof. E. Massiglio; during his short stay in South America (Chile) he was
student of the master prof. J. Fossa Calderon, who knew, in these his first
pictorial experiences, create the conditions for his artistic evolution.
