Interior views are quite common among the subjects of artworks. Consider, for example, the many paintings depicting the artist's studio, such as Courbet's famous "Atelier." Giovanni Bossone (1931–1985) was one of the most important representatives of the renowned family of painters from Ossola. He exhibited extensively, holding around ten solo shows a year at his peak, in various regions of Italy and abroad (he also exhibited in Buenos Aires, Argentina). He was primarily a painter of lyrical mountain landscapes of the Ossola Valley, intimate interiors of peasant homes, and still lifes.
