John Paul II. Way of Holiness - Giuseppe Ducrot (Fmr)

Original work no. 530/700, 38.5x55x8 cm, conceived by the Marilena Ferrari FMR Foundation, produced by the FMR publishing house. Considered a true work of art, "Giovanni Paolo II Via di Santità" was conceived by G. Ducrot, in collaboration with the FMR publishing house. Ducrot created the bas-reliefs made of 999% silver, inspired by the figure of Pope John Paul II, placed on the cover and on the back of the precious volume. The exterior of the work is in fine white leather; with it, the stitching, the binding and the silver inscriptions on the spine, were made at the "L'Arte del Libro" bookbindery in Todi. The paper is hand-worked in pure 270 g chiffon, in a format of 73x60 cm, embellished with the "Marilena Ferrari" watermark. Inside, there are 16 drawings by Ducrot and key texts of the Pope's Pontificate, such as the first greeting and the first blessing to the faithful (16/10/1978), the homily for the beginning of the Pontificate (22/10/1978). and the Testament. The text was executed in iron gall ink and nib by the calligrapher Barbara Calzolari, who drew inspiration from Renaissance editions of sacred texts, including the decorations on the title page, the loops, and the initials.
