Description of the work
Description of the work
Treccani dedicates to the Holy Year proclaimed by Pope Francis in 2015, a monographic volume composed of thirteen essays and an iconographic journey articulated in over one hundred and sixty images.
The Jubilee of Pope Francis is an in-depth study of this epochal moment, analyzed by the most authoritative scholars close to the Vatican, a work dedicated to one of the most current themes for the history and spirituality of the world and of Italy in particular, which shows how the Jubilee Year was the synthesis of all aspects of the revolutionary pontificate of Pope Francis: the commitment to reforms, mercy as the chosen theme, the correspondence with the 50th anniversary of the end of the Council, the recovery of the original religiosity.
The Jubilee of Pope Francis enriches a collection of prestigious works, inaugurated in 2013 with The Conclave of Pope Francis, followed in 2014 by The Conclave and Pope Francis: The First Year of the Pontificate, and the new edition of the Encyclopedia of the Popes, titled The Popes from Peter to Francis. All are bound in white pit-tanned leather, with hot-stamped gold embossing and decorations on the front and spine.
