Description of the work
Description of the work
The subject falls within the genre scene category, that is, the depiction of an episode of everyday life that, apparently, lacks any significant element. These types of domestic subjects were long considered minor and only began to spread in Western art starting in the 17th century. Only with the development of 19th-century realism did everyday subjects become considered as important as historical or religious ones.
As we can see from his works, Giuseppe Brambilla has developed a complex pictorial language. He completely eschews the confines of drawing, allowing complete freedom to the expressive potential of color. Thus, figures are synthesized through a decidedly synthetic approach, constructed through fluid passages of paint. His technique derives from Expressionism, which, in addition to providing immediacy in execution, imbues his work with intense emotional and poetic vibrations.
Giuseppe Brambilla - Sancina - was born in 1954 in Santa Maria Hoè (Lecco), where he still lives and works. He attended the Brera Academy in Milan. He is a professional painter and was a painting instructor at the "Renzo Colombo" professional school in Oggiono (Lecco). In thirty years of artistic and professional activity, he has held over five hundred solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad and has received important awards and recognitions, including the Ambrogino d'Oro from the City of Milan. Known for his numerous representative exhibitions, he is highly esteemed in Europe, especially in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France, and Spain.
