Giuseppe Giorgi - Untitled (Three Faces)

The work features three ethereal figures against an almost abstract background. The figures, arranged in a semicircle, with their backs turned, look around, and the girl in the foreground establishes a connection of gazes with the viewer, as if asking a silent question.

Giorgi creates skillfully: every element contributes to the impact, from the background divided into thirds to the transparent, ethereal figures, whose contours echo the blue of the background. The arrangement of the figures creates depth and perspective, while their slight offset from the center of the painting accentuates the dynamic balance of the composition.

Giuseppe Giorgi was born in 1950 in Borbona (Rieti) and has lived and worked in Rome since 1954, maintaining strong ties to his hometown. He was educated under the guidance of Sestilio Piccari and the sculptor Franco Verroca, alongside his architectural studies (1969–1974), which were crucial to his spatial and constructive sense. He debuted at a very young age with solo and group exhibitions, receiving awards and recognition as early as the early 1970s, including at the 1975 National Art Quadrennial. After a trip to Paris in 1979, he developed a style of painting attentive to memory, the landscape of the soul, and impressionist influences, also exhibiting in New York and Japan. His explorations, intertwined with architecture and nature, are distinguished by suspended atmospheres and subtle chromatic vibrations, achieved with a refined technique based on tempera and pastel.
