Description of the work
Description of the work
The work Natura centrale (2003/2004) represents a profound reflection on the theme of nature, a central theme of Giuseppe Scaiola's research. Rather than depicting a specific element, the painting focuses on the vital forces that animate nature, transforming energy and movement into fields of color and dynamic forms. Through this synthesis of shapes and colors, the artist invites the viewer to perceive nature not as a static image, but as a living organism in constant transformation.
The painting belongs to the artist's mature period, characterized by a free and gestural language. Acrylic allows Scaiola to create intense fields of color, where movement and rhythm recall the primordial forces of nature. The work combines dynamism and harmony, distinctive elements of his style, conveying sensations and impressions to the viewer rather than precise images.
Giuseppe Scaiola (Cairo Montenotte, 1951) initially trained as a restorer, later at the Art School of Savona and the Albertina Academy in Turin. From the 1970s, he participated in the vibrant art scene of Turin and Milan, coming into contact with leading artists, critics, and gallery owners, who accompanied him in his first exhibitions in Italy and abroad. His painting, initially figurative, evolved in the 1980s towards an informal language, where nature becomes a privileged subject and an inexhaustible source of inspiration. Scaiola has exhibited in important museums and galleries in Italy, Germany, Sweden, and Russia, garnering widespread acclaim from both the public and critics. His works, characterized by a strong poetic tension and constant formal exploration, are now present in numerous public and private collections.
