Description of the work
Description of the work
The painting depicts several fishing boats in the foreground, resting on the shore. The vessels, small and modest, seem to belong to a simple place, linked to daily work at sea. In the background, a village of white houses stands out, neatly arranged at the foot of a mountain range. Above, a clear sky completes the scene, lending depth to the image. The entire composition is constructed with balance, free of superfluous elements, and evokes a sense of lived reality. However, it is not just a faithful representation of the landscape: the work also conveys a broader feeling, tied to the identity of a territory.
The style is typical of Giuseppe Torre's work: extremely detailed, almost photographic, yet not cold. The attention to detail is evident throughout the canvas, from the lines of the boats to the reflections of light on the surfaces. Despite this precision, the work does not lose its expressiveness: the use of color, the management of light, and the way the layers overlap create a suspended atmosphere that engages the viewer. It is a painting that describes precisely, yet at the same time leaves room for a more personal perception. The style combines technique with emotion, as in many of the artist's works.
Giuseppe Torre, born in 1956 in San Giorgio a Cremano (Naples), is a self-taught artist working as a painter and sculptor. He began his career in photography before moving to visual art, experimenting with various techniques until he found his signature style in hyperrealism and sacred art. His works are characterized by an exceptional attention to detail and a strong symbolic charge, elements that have earned him numerous awards in group and solo exhibitions. His creations are present in prestigious public and private collections, including the E. Greco Museum in Sabaudia and the Pinacoteca della Basilica di Sant'Alfonso in Pagani.
