The Eyes of Hypatia

This painting was created in 2023 for an exhibition organized in Spoleto in conjunction with the Festival dei Due Mondi and in particular with the Opera Festival (Gli occhi di Ipazia is the title of the first work that opened the festival).
It is part of a series of paintings inspired by operas or by opera protagonists.
The portrait on the right is an almost childlike image that represents the pure curiosity of those who study beyond dogma and the known. Discoveries always arise from the darkness and often encounter criticism and opposition, but if the eyes continue to scrutinize, the truth will emerge sooner or later.
