The work draws on an Informal aesthetic language. The devastation wrought by World War II left a profound mark on Western civilization, which in the visual arts also resulted in an inability to communicate. For some artists, this challenge led to a complete rejection of any visual language, resulting in the birth of Informal Art. The various Informal movements are certainly connected to American Abstract Expressionism, especially with regard to the gestural component, but they go further in their rejection of any figurative element, even geometric. Their research focuses instead on the material from which their works are composed.

In the aesthetics of Informal and Abstract Expressionist art, the practice of dripping (popularized by Jackson Pollock) is a fundamental medium for the artist's gestures. This work by Gloria Vallese is entirely based on dripping. Indeed, it is the marks created by the dripping of paint, controlled by the artist, that create the entire structure of the composition. The result is a light and elegant Informal work, balanced in its movements.

Gloria Vallese was born in 1954 in Badia Polesine. Her main profession is as an art historian and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. As a curator and contemporary art journalist, she has collaborated with several young artists such as the CREAM group, Arnel Helja, Valentina De Sario and Silvia Giuseppone, Alice Musi, Gaia Zuffa, Vania Comoretti, and Primoz Bizjak.
