Griet Dobbels - Zwerm 03 (Swarm)

Visual artist Griet Dobbels uses various media to express concepts related to beauty and nature, but also horror and uncertainty, and the relationship between individuality and universality. This work is part of a series in which Griet Dobbels questions the relationship between humanity and nature. The statue's anthropic presence establishes a harmonious relationship with the surrounding nature. The climbing plant clings to it in an acceptable, sustainable relationship. In this image, the artist seems to hope for a possible balance between humanity and nature, in line with the most recent demands of environmentalism.

Griet Dobbels is a Belgian artist. She graduated from the Royal College of Art in London in 1966. Griet Dobbels has exhibited her work in various national and international events. Her Cittadellarte residency at the Pistoletto Foundation between 2017 and 2018 was particularly significant. She has been the protagonist of several initiatives in public spaces.
