The Betrothed with illustrations by Alberto Sughi - Fmr Art'è

The volume was produced in an exclusive world edition limited to one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five copies numbered from 1/1925 to 1925/1925 and seventy-five copies numbered from I/LXXV to LXXV/LXXV on fine ART´E´ paper, 100% cotton, 120 g and 210 g, produced by Cartiera Magnani of Pescia specifically for this edition.
In addition to the original text of the novel, the work includes a preface and eleven commentaries on Manzoni's characters by Professor Ferruccio Ulivi, ten color plates outside the text, and seventeen black-and-white illustrations in the text, taken from original drawings created specifically for this edition by maestro Sughi.
The ten plates outside the text were printed using the litho-serigraphic technique on high-quality ART´E´ 100% cotton 210 g paper at the Luigi Berardinelli Art Printing House in Verona.
The texts were printed in Baskerville type at Stamperia Valdonega.
The stitching, binding, and cover of the volume, in hand-stained blue sheepskin with four ribs on the spine and gold inscriptions, were handcrafted by the art bookbindery L'Arte del Libro in Todi.
The cover of the volume features a copy of Alberto Sughi's work I Promessi Sposi, an original bas-relief in metal alloy, 100 mm in diameter, minted, covered in silver and patinated with a special manual process at the Stabilimento Artistico GDE Licensee Bertoni, in one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five copies numbered from 1/1925 to 1925/1925 and seventy-five copies numbered from I/LXXV to LXXV/LXXV.
