Il Milione is a biographical essay that Rustichello da Pisa, a prisoner in Genoa with the Venetian merchant and explorer Marco Polo, wrote at the latter's dictation, perhaps in 1298 (but in any case after 1295). The work contains the narrative of Marco Polo's adventures in the East. It is the most universally known book of 13th-century Italian literature. |
