Persian Kama Sutra

The "Persian Kama Sutra Ms Miguel Huguet Viñas 17 Collection" saw the light in a carefully crafted facsimile reproduction down to the smallest detail, reproducing 119 miniatures of the Kama Sutra ranging in length from 150 to 250 pages.

The presentation of the "Kama Persian Sutra" was given by Javier Hernández, professor of Persian and Arabic at the Institute of the Ancient Near East (IPOA). Hernández focuses on the publication of this telefax as an attempt to devalue and publicize the Kama Sutra and its treasures (dated to the third century CE). The "Persian Kama Sutra" owes its origins to contact between the Mughal culture and India, which led to the translation of the Sanskrit text into Persian.
