Surrealist aesthetics emerged around the 1920s, encompassing all fields of artistic research. In terms of the visual arts, Surrealism sought to explore the human subconscious and translate it into artwork through a mechanical writing process based on dream analysis. Consequently, Surrealist artworks propose the representation of a dreamlike dimension, completely dissociated from reality.

The work fully demonstrates all the peculiarities of the surrealist aesthetic adopted by the painter Kiity. The process of writing the subconscious, in his case, generates mechanomorphic creatures, beings assembled by a geometrically ordered will. The creatures occupy the entire scene, lending it a rationality of pure lines. This is further emphasized by Kiity's style, which, rather than the hyperrealism typical of historical surrealists, favors a synthesizing technique, reminiscent of post-Cubist aesthetics.
