Description of the work
Description of the work
The "Still Life" genre emerged in the early 17th century. It consists of compositions of inanimate subjects, most often flowers or fruit. While initially it was an opportunity for painters to attempt a photographic reproduction of reality, with contemporary art the "Still Life" also becomes a way of interpreting reality, as it did for the Cubists or Giorgio Morandi.
Chahinian's style is based on lucid objectivity. We note how the composition is based on a solid drawing structure that delineates the volumes of the objects, placing them within a plausible space. The painter also displays a certain technical skill that allows him to represent objects precisely. In terms of color, he displays a certain predilection for bright hues and almost fluorescent flashes of light.
L. Chahinian is a painter gifted with an excellent technique that allows him to obtain a precise objective representation of sensitive reality.
