We Are the Lira - Peak of Italy - Editalia

The "La Lira siamo Noi" series recounts the history of the Lira through valuable volumes dedicated to the history of coins and paper money against the backdrop of a changing Italy in search of its own identity, from the founding of the Kingdom to the Republic. A work of art in book form, a precious treasure chest of memories to preserve our history and share it with future generations. Each volume features a precious metal bas-relief on the cover.

The volume presented here highlights a brief but highly significant period, twenty years in which the events of great history shaped the personal and daily lives of many of us: stories of dreams, illusions, suffering, and struggles, still vivid in the memories of Italians. A rich array of period images contrasts with coins and banknotes in magnified detail. The large format of the pages, the selection of papers, and the careful printing combine to give this work an editorial quality of absolute prestige, enhanced by the exceptional binding.

The bas-relief on the cover is minted on a silver plate and reproduces a detail of the 100 lire “Vetta d'Italia” coin from 1925.

The volume contains 334 pages printed on fine paper and over 300 photographs, both black and white and color. The binding is silkscreened leather, and the lettering on the spine is silver-embossed.

A total of 4,999 numbered copies were produced. The book is housed in a transparent plexiglass display case.
