Description of the work
Description of the work
God's Revolution is the first book of Benedict XVI's pontificate. This comprehensive work of art in book form was produced in an exclusive, limited edition. The first copy of the edition was reserved for His Holiness Benedict XVI. The work collects the twelve speeches given by the Pope during the 20th World Youth Day in Cologne, held in August 2005. The volume, with a preface by His Eminence Cardinal Camillo Ruini, addresses the question of the Christian faith and the destiny of humanity, of Israel and Islam, and the central role of youth in the life of the Christian faith. The work is bilingual, with parallel texts in Italian and Spanish. The texts were printed in Milan at the print shop of Jacopo Steffenini, son of Giampaolo, on 160-gram pure cotton veil paper, created specifically for this edition and embellished with the papal watermark, hand-crafted on a loom and molded into a round shape using an exclusive formula by Cartiere d'Arches in France. The stitching, binding, and natural parchment cover with gold inscriptions on the spine were all hand-crafted at Bruno Superti's L'Arte del Libro bindery in Todi. Each volume is embellished on the front cover with the work "Benedict XVI" and on the back cover with "Studio di Facciata" by the master Giuseppe Ducrot, original rhomboid bas-relief sculptures measuring 15 x 21.5 cm, in 24k gold-coated bronze, sand-cast at Giuseppe Belotti's Farbel art studio in Erbusco, Brescia, in a limited edition. Each bas-relief is numbered and signed by the artist and bears the seals of the foundry and FMR. The work is enhanced by the 24k gold-patinated bronze bas-relief Eucharist by Giuseppe Ducrot, measuring 21 x 35 cm, sand-cast at Giuseppe Belotti's Farbel art studio in Erbusco, Brescia, in a limited edition.
