Paolo Cattaneo is an Italian artist born in Alzano Lombardo (Bergamo), Italy.

​

After obtaining a high school diploma at the Art School Andrea Fantoni in 1995, he attended the Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan in the years 1996/1998.

​

In 2002 he started dedicating his artistic research to the painting project named “La Ruina”, based on Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy (especially focused on the first part “Inferno”). The work is still in progress.

​

In 2007, along with other 3 artists, he took part in the artistic collective Chomsky_4, a particular series of works where the four members of the group paint on the same surface at the same time. The philosophy behind Chomsky_4 project takes inspiration from Noam Chomsky, the American linguist and cognitive scientist.
