Lino Alviani - Vague Idea

In this phase of his career, Abruzzo-born artist Lino Alviani achieves a minimalism of language and representation. His iconography is complex, built on profound symbolism, underlying analogies, and references to spiritual messages that are resolved on the canvas through the juxtaposition of disparate elements (in addition to the pictorial medium, the artist also employs small interventions with collage or the insertion of objects). Everything, however, is treated calligraphically: the space is two-dimensional, divided into compact chromatic zones; the elegant, graphic, and subtle line moves in delicate arabesques.
