However, when an artist's goal is to depict an object that resonates with phenomenal reality but is also charged with hidden and symbolic meaning, this boundary can become blurred. Symbolism and Expressionism are emblematic stylistic movements in their conceptual interpretation of reality, with an iconic rendering of images and a symbolic interpretation in the use of color. Luciano Gasper's starting point is, however, the tangible reality of which he leaves a clearly visible trace in his work. This allows Gasper to modulate the movements of his characters in a theatrical and evocative manner, engaging the viewer in the construction of a dynamic space. Gasper's experimental approach, however, is expressed primarily formally; indeed, his language reflects various aesthetic influences of contemporary art. First and foremost, the expressionist synthesis of his subjects, reduced to the essential by a fluid line that simplifies their forms with a frenetic rhythm. In terms of color, the artist draws on an almost exaggerated gesturality, dictated by his irrepressible creativity. Finally, chromatically, Gasper favors a palette consistent with the expressionism of his style: the colors are electric and acidic, almost pop in their provocation.

Luciano Gasper was a multifaceted personality and a driving force in Treviso's cultural life. A painter, poet, and filmmaker, he also engaged his colleagues by creating the "Tavolozza" and initiating the "Grolla d'oro," which annually brought together artists, poets, and the media of Treviso for a prize that transcended not only the Veneto region but Italy as a whole. Renowned for his exhibitions, Gasper boasted, among many others, his friendship with Patty Pravo.
