Landscape has always been a central theme in artistic research, both as a setting, as a backdrop, and as a subject itself. The naturalistic depiction of landscape has been a major aspiration for artists of every era. Each historical period has offered its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its depiction: first with an exploration of space, through Brunelleschi's perspective in the early Renaissance; then with atmospheric rendering in the sixteenth century; and finally with the depiction of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism.

The work offers a typical interpretation of landscape by painter Luciano Pasquini. The artist, especially through color, provides a highly lyrical interpretation of the landscape. His technique relies on a light impasto of color that constructs space through overlapping layers. The hilly landscape becomes ethereal, the cultivated fields an exuberant mosaic of colors.

Luciano Pasquini was born in Florence in 1943. His childhood in the Impruneta countryside was crucial to the development of his artistic language. His first solo exhibition was held in 1972 in Camonti (Arezzo), curated by art critic Pietro Civitareale. Since then, numerous exhibitions have followed in various Italian cities. In 2016, the temporary exhibition at the Art Hotel Villa Agape in Florence was transformed into a permanent retrospective.
