Luigi Cobianco interprets a frequently used representation throughout the history of art: the view of a marine environment. In this case, the painter depicts a scene animated by figures, barely sketched in the paint, located on a beach. What emerges within the painting is a representation of everyday life. Unlike other representations, which feature seascapes and ports as their themes, here the meaning is different. Although the painting may draw on the study of perspective, the distant horizon, the light, and the reflections on the water, the painter focuses his attention on a serene, peaceful scene that strikes a chord in all of us, transporting us almost to a childhood state in which memories of days at the seaside come alive. Luigi Cobianco's painting style is distinctive for combining the Impressionist figurative tradition with contemporary Italian art. The Impressionist influence evident in the painting is evident in such striking characteristics as: plein air painting—an outdoor landscape study—the impressions of light on color to convey the volume of objects and subjects, creating a vibrant effect; the extremely compact and textured brushstrokes that convey a sense of movement and immediacy; the use of everyday themes and the rejection of linear perspective. All of this converges in Cobianco's painting, which is also animated by a clear and pure naturalism. Luigi Cobianco was born in Villanova Marchesana (Rovigo) in 1993 and died in Mestre in 1967. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, where he was a pupil of Ettore and Guglielmo Ciardi. He later attended the Scuola Libera di Figura in Rome. In 1919, he made his debut at the first Exhibition of the Circolo Artistico at the Galleria Geri Barolevi in ​​Venice, and subsequently participated in the Venice Biennials between 1926 and 1956. His first solo exhibition was held in 1954 at the Galleria Dell'Opera Bevilacqua La Masa. From 1926, he taught Ornamental Art at the Academy of Venice, while also focusing on exhibitions.
