The collection features a series of ceramics painted by the artist Luigi Prtetin for Ellepi. This is a highly interesting series of works, which also showcase the painter's versatility. Two of the pieces feature colorful landscapes, rendered with freshness and great vivacity, thanks to the artist's impressionistic verve. In two other pieces, Pretin draws inspiration from the decoration of ancient majolica, creating an elegant blue monochrome. The collection concludes with a beautiful plate decorated with a mythological theme.
Luigi Pretin, Chioggia 1938. At a very young age, he left for Morocco, then Portugal, Spain, and finally France, where he met many artists, including De Chirico and Salvador Dalí. And it was Dalí who had a great persuasive power over him, so much so that for a time he embraced "Surrealism," which he later abandoned to develop his own original style in which dream and reality merge. During the "Fourth International Biennial of Contemporary Art" in Florence, art critic Johnny T. Spike described his painting as "fantastic." His works are held in public and private collections and have been published numerous times in contemporary art catalogs and periodicals.
