Landscape has always been a central theme in artistic research, both as a setting, as a backdrop, and as a subject itself. The naturalistic depiction of landscape has been a major aspiration for artists of every era. Each historical period has offered its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its depiction: first with an exploration of space, through Brunelleschi's perspective in the early Renaissance; then with atmospheric rendering in the sixteenth century; and finally with the depiction of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism.

Rosati, the artist, has a highly distinctive aesthetic conception of landscape, verging on Expressionism. Phenomenal reality is subjected to a highly formal synthesis, with a powerfully cursive brushstroke that delineates forms with rapid flickers. Everything revolves around the expressive qualities of color, which, through its tonal transitions, arranges objects in the distant background. Color, moreover, does not faithfully reflect nature, but possesses remarkable emotional nuances in its almost material density.

The artist Rosati has a rather eclectic spirit that leads him to alternate more traditional representations with others in which he experiments with an expressionist language.
