Lupez is the pen name of Luigi Pezzola, an artist from Bagnacavallo who found his own form of expression in the "Unstable Equilibri" series. Lupez draws on the art of engraving to create animal figures whose technical quality makes them seem lifted from ancient bestiaries or taxonomic manuals. These figures balance on geometric and rational shapes, giving rise to lively compositions. Animal figures are also central to Lupez's sculptural work, and he always stands out for the creativity with which he creates his terracotta sculptures: almost idols from ancient civilizations.
