Description of the work
Description of the work
Romeo Cingolani was born in Civita Castellana, a charming town in the province of Viterbo in Lazio, on November 18, 1938. He currently lives and pursues his artistic career in Rome. Romeo Cingolani is a painter of sensation and great vitality who, without succumbing to vain flattery, exposes himself and finds valid motivation in his work and in the pursuit of a style of painting that, idealizing the material, is always willing to renew itself and stimulate the viewer's imagination. Inspired by drawing from an early age, he created his first oil painting in 1961 in Milan, during his stay in this industrious city to fulfill his military service obligations. A city that allowed him to grasp the message and undeniable charm of art. Thus, he discovered and embraced the profound essence of color, aided in this by the study of art books that developed and evolved his culture. In the chaotic and disruptive era of figurative art, Romeo Cingolani studied the great Renaissance masters, the Neoclassicists, and the Impressionists, yet remained indifferent to Surrealism and the latest artistic trends. In the Lombard capital, he chromatically updated numerous paintings. Having settled in Rome, the most complete artistic city in the world, Cingolani expanded his knowledge of painting, pursuing a discourse that, starting from pure figurative art, led to modern art. A stay in Paris was also highly valuable, where he could, in the museums, grasp the intimate essence of the world's great artists and connect with their spirit.
